Cooking Time : 30 minutes

Ingredients :

Basmati Rice 1/2 Cup (100 gm)
Cow's Milk 1 Litre
Sugar 100 gm
Almonds (coarsely chopped) 1/4 Cup (40 gm)
Silver Varakh (for decoration) 1 Sheet
Pistachios (sliced fine)

1/4 Cup ( 40 gm)

Method :

  • Wash and soak the rice for half an hour.
  • Mix with half cup milk and grind to a very fine paste.
  • Add the remaining milk to the rice paste.
  • Stir well and cook for 10 minutes or until thick.
  • Add sugar and stir till the sugar dissolves.
  • Add the almonds.
  • Remove from heat and keep aside to cool.
  • Phirni may be moulded.
  • Decorate with silver varakh and pistachios.
  • Serve chilled.
