Golden Syrup Dumplings

Ingredients:

Syrup:
Water
1 cup
Brown Sugar
3/4 cup
Golden Syrup
3 tbsp
Butter
30g
Orange(grated rind)
1 nos
Dumplings:
Self Raising Flour
1 cup
Caster Sugar
1 tbsp
Butter(melted)
50g
Egg
1 nos
Water
2 tbsp

Method:

  • Combine all the syrup ingredients in a large heat-proof dish.Cook for 6 minutes on HIGH, stirring occasionally to dissolve sugar.
  • Sift flour; add sugar, butter, egg and enough water to combine.(Mixture should be thick enough to roll into balls).
  • Roll the dough into walnut-size balls and drop into boiling syrup, allowing enough room for spreading.
  • Cover the dish with a lid or a plastic wrap.
  • Cook for 11/2- 2 minutes on HIGH.Turn halfway through cooking.
  • Serve hot with whipped cream.
