Cooking Time : 30 minutes

Ingredients :

For Pie :

Plain Flour 250 gms
Frozen Butter 100 gms
Ice Cold Water 2 tbsp
Egg 1 nos

For Filling :

Apple 500 gms
Butter 1 tbsp
Brown Sugar 2 tbsp
Cinnamon Powder 1 tsp

For Garnishing :

Castor Sugar 1 tsp
Raisins 1 tbsp

Method :

  • Sift flour and mix it with butter.Add cold water and knead into dough.Wrap in a foil and refrigerate.
  • Peel and slice apples.Microwave butter in a microwave safe bowl at 100% power for 1 min.Stir in apples and brown sugar and microwave at 100% power for 3-4 mins.Keep aside to cool.
  • Roll the dough and cut into 2 layers in the shape of the baking dish.Now line the dish with 1 layer, stuff it with the prepared apple filling and cover with the other layer or in any other pattern you like as shown in the picture.Press the edges together.
  • Beat the egg and brush it on the pie.Bake in preheated oven for 10-15 mins. at 1900 C on convection mode on the lower rack.
  • Garnish with raisins and sprinkle castor sugar.Cut into wedges and serve when cool.
