Shepherd's Pie

Cooking Time : 1 hour

Ingredients :

Minced Meat(keema) 500 gms
Onion(chopped) 1 large
Garlic Flakes(chopped) 5-6 nos
Corn(canned or fresh) 100 gms
Peas(shelled) 100 gms
Capsicum(chopped) 50 gms
Carrot(chopped) 100 gms
Soya Sauce 1 tsp
Tomato Sauce 1 tsp
Salt & Black Pepper Powder to taste

For Topping :

Potatoes(boiled and mashed) 200 gms
Butter 2 tbsp
Milk 1/2 cup

Method :

  • In a microwave safe bowl heat 1 tbsp butter at 100% power for 30 secs.
  • Add chopped onion,garlic and microwave at 100% power for 2 mins.
  • Add remaining chopped vegetables and microwave covered at 100% power for 8-9 mins.
  • Add minced meat, soya sauce, tomato sauce, salt and black pepper and microwave (covered) at 60% power for 4-5 mins.Allow to stand for 5 mins.
  • Preheat the oven at 2500 C.
  • Blend milk, potatoes, 1 tbsp butter to a smooth paste for topping.
  • Shift the meat-vegetable mixture to a greased pie dish and cover completely with the mashed potatoes topping.
  • Bake (uncovered) for 10-15 mins, in the preheated oven for 2500 C on convection mode at the lower rack or till golden brown.
