Khajoor Imli Ki Chutney (sonth)

Ingredients:

Tamarind(imli, deseeded)
100g
Sugar/Jaggery(gur, crushed)
50g
Dates(Khajoor, deseeded and chopped)
50g
Garam Masala Powder
1/2 tsp
Salt, Black Pepper & Red Chilli Powder
To taste
Water
2 cups

Method:

  • Wash and soak tamarind in 1 cup of water for 10 mins. In a microwave safe bowl, microwave tamarind with water at 100% power for 3-4 mins.Cool, strain and collect the pulp.
  • In another microwave safe bowl add khajoor , salt, garam masala, red chilli, 1 cup water.Microwave for 4--5 mins. at 100% power. When softened, add tamarind pulp, crushed jaggery and microwave at 80% power for 5--6 mins. or tillthick.
  • Sprinkle roasted cumin seeds powder.When cool,strain the chutney and store in clean bottles.
