Cooking Time : 40 minutes

Ingredients :

Potato 4 medium
Green Peas 1 cup
Curd 1 cup
Popped Lotus Seeds(ful makana) 1 cup
Cashewnuts-Almonds 1 cup
Garam Masala Powder 1 tsp
Tomato Puree 1 cup
Salt to taste
Green Coriander(chopped) 2 tbsp
Brown Cardomom(badi elaichi) 5-6 nos
Ginger Paste 2 tbsp
Ghee 1/2 cups
Asafoetida(hing) 1/4 tsp
Green Chillies(chopped) 5-6 nos
Bay Leaves(tej patta) 5-6 nos
Turmeric Powder(haldi) 1/4 tsp
Red Chilli Powder 1/4 tsp
Alkanet Root(ratanjot) 1/4 " piece
Garam Masala Powder 1/4 tsp
Coriander Powder 1/4 tsp
Cloves 5-6 nos

Method :

  • Cut potatoes into 8-8 pieces.
  • Heat oil in a pan and deep fry pieces of potatoes.
  • Now add cashewnuts, almonds and popped lotus seeds (ful makhana) and fry it.
  • Remove it and now add bay leaves, cloves, cardamom, alkanet root (ratanjot) and asafoetida.
  • After 2-3 mins. Add salt, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder dissolved in 1/4 cup of water.
  • Saute it for 4-5 mins.Remove alkanet root (ratanjot) after the mixture turns completely red.
  • Now add tomato puree, ginger paste and saute it well for 2-3 mins.
  • Add curd and saute it.Add green chilles (chopped), potaoes, green peas and mix it well.
  • Add 1/2 cup water.Cook it for 15 mins.
  • Now add fried popped lotus seeds (Ful makhana) and cook for 10 mins.
  • Add fried almonds, cashewnuts, garam masala powder, green coriander (chopped) and cook it for 2 mins.
  • Serve hot.
