Ingredients
Chana Dal - 1/2 cup Toovar Dal - 1 cup Salt - To taste Haldi - 1/2 Tsp Red Chilli Powder - 1/4 Tsp Lime Juice - 1 Tbsp Garlic - 4-5 Cloves Tomatoes - 2 Small Onion - 1 Medium Green Coriander Leaves - 2 Tbsp Green Chillies - 1 Ghee/Butter - 2 Tbsp Hing - a Pinch Jeera - 1/2 Tsp
Method:
- Pressure cook chana dal and toovar dal with sufficient water, salt and haldi powder. Give 2 whistle and keep on low flame for 10 minutes. Let the pressure drop.
- In a pan heat ghee/butter and add hing. after few seconds add jeera and let it crackle.
- Add green chillies, garlic and onions and cook till onions turn light brown.
- Add tomatoes and red chilli powder and cook for 7-8 minutes.
- Then add this tadka to the boiled dal and cook for 10-15 minutes on low heat. Cover the vessel while cooking.
- Garnish with coriander leaves.
- Serve hot.
