Paneer Butter Masala

Cooking Time : 45 Minutes

Ingredients :

Paneer 250 gm (1/2" thick pieces)
Ghee 3 Tbsp (or 4-1/2 Tbsp oil)
Tomatoes 400 gm (7-8 chopped)
Ginger- Garlic paste 2 Tbsp
Tej Patta 1
Moti Illaichi 2 (skinned & crushed)
Kasoori Methi 1 Tsp
Chili Powder 1/2 Tsp
Salt to taste (1 Tsp)
Sugar 1Tsp or slightly more
Garam Masala 1/4 Tsp
Cream or Well Beaten Malai 5 Tbsp

Method :

  • Heat ghee in a karahi.
  • Add tomotoes, ginger garlic paste, tej patta, moti illaichi, methi & chili powder.
  • Cook for 10 min till tomatoes are pulpy.
  • Let it cool and then grind to puree.
  • Keep the puree on fire.
  • Add salt, garam masala & sugar to reduce the sour flavor.
  • Add cream, remove from fire.
  • Add paneer 1 hour before serving.
  • Garnish with cream (1 Tbsp) & coriander leaves.
