French Onion Soup

Cooking Time: 30 min

Ingredients:

Butter 60g
Onions(finely chopped) 5 nos
Flour 3 tbps
Beef Stock 4 cups
White Wine 1/4 tsp
Oregano(dried) 1/4 tsp
Black Pepper
French Breadstick,toasted and buttered 6 slices
Grated Cheese 1/4 cup

Method:

  • Melt butter for 40 seconds on HIGH in a 3-litre casserole dish.
  • Stir in onions.Cook for 7-9 minutes on HIGH.
  • Stir in flour.Cook for 1 minute on HIGH.
  • Gradually stir in beef stock, white wine and oregano.
  • Cook for 8-10 minutes on HIGH or until hot.Stir soup halfway through cooking.Season with pepper.
  • Place bread slices on top of soup; sprinkle with cheese.Cook for 11/2 minutes on HIGH.
