Pea and Ham Soup

Cooking Time: 11/2 hours

Ingredients:

Water 6 cups
Split Peas 500g
Carrots(peeled and chopped) 3 nos
Onion(thinly sliced) 1 nos
Celery(sliced) 1 stick
Bacon Bones 500g
Salt and Pepper
Ham(optional) 250g

Method:

  • Combine all ingredients except ham in a large casserole dish. Cover and cook for 10 minutes on HIGH.
  • Reduce power to MEDIUM and cok for 1 hour, stirring 2-3 times during cooking.
  • Remove bacon bones.Add ham(optional) and season to taste.
