Cooking Time : 30 Minutes

Ingredients :

Tomatoes 4 Big Size Chopped
Onion 1 Medium Size Chopped
Garlic 5 Cloves Chopped
Green Chillies 4 Chopped
Tamarind/Imli 1 Small Ball
Jaggery/gur 1 Tsp
Mustard Seeds 1 TSp
Curry Leaves 8-10 Leaves
Whole Red Chilli 1
Ghee 1 Tsp
Cumin/jeera 1 Tsp Roasted & Powdered
Coriander Seeds 1 Tsp Powdered
Black Pepper 2 Tsp Powdered

Method :

  • Soak the tamarind in a cup of hot water and extract the pulp.
  • Boil the tomatoes, chillies and garlic in 4 cups of water.
  • Add the ground spices, jaggery and tamarind pulp and simmer for 15 minutes.
  • Heat ghee and add mustard seeds to it.
  • Add the curry leaves, red chilli, asafoetida powder and onion and fry for a minute.
  • Mix With the tomatoes.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves.
  • Serve hot.
